Company Profile |
Established in 1971, the Humphries Weaving Company today continues in supplying highly specialised
woven textiles still created and individually produced in the rural East Anglia, in England.
The company operates in Suffolk, in the picturesque town of Sudbury, home of the British Silk Industry.
This is where we process our raw silk and custom dye the special colours required. Jacquard woven, plain fabrics and design weave
trials are also produced here. The Archives of the company contain exquisite examples of period design, texture and colour.

Due to our reputation in the British Textile Industry we have been involved in many prestigious
projects, including restoring the fire damaged State apartments at Windsor Castle and Hampton Court Palace. Many National Trust, English
Heritage and Historic House properties have used our extensive archive and technical skills to revive historic interiors. Decorators
searching for colour, texture and special weaves in small quantities, have for over 30 years found our fabrics and cloth structures
both fitting and correct.
Every order under taken, is classified as a 'special' and is therefore woven specifically to the customers individual
requirements, in terms of design, layout and colour, with 30 metres being the minimum order.
In addition to supplying many forms of special plain and figured silks, there is an ever growing
collection of Jacquard designs, which in many cases have been redrawn from original documents giving a true and authentic fabric replacement.
