    Dyeworks Sustainability

    Humphries Weaving continues to make improvements in all aspects of quality and sustainability in its manufacturing processes. One of the areas that has taken much of our focus has been in the dying area. The majority of the yarns dyed and woven at Humphries Weaving are natural fibres. Silk, cottons and wools are the yarns most often utilized and being 100% biodegradable, are ultimately some of the most sustainable fibres to dye and weave.

    Visit us at the Historic Buildings, Parks & Gardens Event 2019

    The Historic Buildings, Parks & Gardens Event 2019 (HBPGE) is held on Tuesday 12th November 2019 at the Queen Elizabeth II conference centre, Broad Sanctuary, Westminster, London SW1P 3EE. The event is open from 9.00 am – 5.00 pm and we look forward to welcoming visitors to stand F48 alongside our colleagues Heritage Trimmings.

    The Georgian Group Architectural Awards 2019 winners announced; Georgian Distinction 

    “The Georgian Group’s 2019 Architectural Awards, sponsored by Savills, attracted an outstandingly strong entry. The following winners were chosen by a panel of judges, chaired by Country Life’s Architectural Editor, John Goodall”.

    In recent years Humphries Weaving have seen a demand for fabrics that have the look and feel of silk, but with an increased abrasion performance. We have been exploring solutions that meet both requirements and have spent a long time testing different yarn compositions and weights within our popular historic and decorator qualities. We are now carrying out sampling for regular customers and seeing an increase in the popularity of using fine viscose yarn.

Every project is special for our team at Humphries Weaving and so where possible we have included project overviews on our website. As well as details about the fabric development, design and yarn composition we have also featured images of the fabric in its final location. Among a wide variety of uses this includes curtains, walling, bed drapes and upholstery for furniture.
