At Humphries, we are always looking for inspiration to combine history with contemporary design, from 18th Century fabric to Chanel’s tweed suits. We recently found ourselves at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

The 50th Annual AGM and Historic Buildings Parks and Gardens Event for Historic Houses, (HBPGE,) will once again be taking place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London.

Humphries Weaving are proud to have supplied crimson Duchess Satin for interior upholstery of the Gold State Coach. After the Coronation their Majesties will travel in the Gold State Coach as part of the Coronation procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace.

For the Coronation of King Charles III Humphries Weaving has continued the proud royal weaving tradition of East Anglia by supplying pure silk damask for the Chairs of Estate upholstery. To celebrate 50 years of Humphries Weaving, the team hosted key clients, interior designers and curators at a Gainsborough Gallery Talk. Richard Humphries reflected on the companies rich history, current projects and future, and Alex Daniels discussed the complex restoration for which she developed bespoke fabric.
