Sudbury train station is just a few minutes’ walk from the mill, with regular links to London Liverpool Street. (Please note that a change of trains at Marks Tey is required. Marks Tey is a small station, and the 4-minute transfer time is sufficient.) There are two routes to reach us: if it’s dark, we recommend walking via Cornard Road; if it’s light and dry, the path alongside the railway track offers a pleasant walk.

Alternatively, you can travel directly from London Liverpool Street to Colchester station, which is approximately 25 minutes away by taxi. Please ensure your taxi is booked in advance. Train times can be found at www.thetrainline.com.

We have ample on-site visitor parking, clearly marked as you enter via the main entrance on Cornard Road.

Explore Sudbury

If you have time before or after your visit, we encourage you to explore the charming market town of Sudbury. In the opposite direction from Humphries Weaving, you’ll find a selection of delightful cafes where you can relax and enjoy the local atmosphere.

One of the highlights of Sudbury is Gainsborough House, the birthplace of the renowned painter Thomas Gainsborough. Here, you can admire our beautiful custom-coloured Arkesden design for walling. See if you can spot the list of donors which is woven using a specialist photographic and embroidery technique, adding a touch of Humphries Weaving to this historic setting.
