Meet the Team

Natalie Mumford
Director
The bespoke fabric and historic restoration projects, and the people Natalie met working on these as an account manager remain one of the privileges of her life. The unique combination of creativity, technical expertise and problem-solving is an exciting area to work in. As Director of Humphries Weaving, she is now entrusted with guiding the strategic direction and making commercial decisions that drive the company's growth and evolution. This role truly reflects her commitment to leading the business into its next phase of success and to continue creating special and unique fabrics for their customers, as Richard Humphries intended when he set up in 1972.
She is driven by a passion for respecting their heritage, innovating their capabilities and working with sustainable business practices, to see Humphries Weaving fabrics continue to be showcased and enjoyed in stunning interior settings.
“I retain a core desire to deliver distinguished fabrics for historic restorations and contemporary interior schemes through developing the talent of the Humphries Weaving team, whilst ensuring the business remains dynamic and prepared for future market demands.”
After receiving a bursary award during her degree in Textile Design at Central Saint Martins, she was proud to later be invited to join the Worshipful Company of Weavers. She became a liveryman in 2022 and enjoys engaging with the Textile Committee and supporting initiatives for industry and weave design graduates throughout the UK. In addition to her responsibilities at Humphries Weaving, she is deeply invested in fostering cultural change and championing environmental and social responsibility initiatives at Sudbury Silk Mills.
They became the first mill in the UK to achieve OEKO-TEX(r) STeP certification for sustainably produced textiles. She has enjoyed sharing their approach at the UKFT Sustainability in UK Textiles conference (2022 & 2023) to contribute to developing industry best practices.

Charlotte Bainbridge
Account Manager
Charlotte brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role. With a keen eye for design and colour, she expertly blends period features with contemporary palettes, whilst demonstrating a deep commitment to historically accurate recreations.
A graduate of Loughborough University's renowned Textile Design program, where she was awarded a prize for her degree show, Charlotte honed her skills over five years in a bespoke weaving business, designing collections and creating textiles for high-end interiors. Additionally, her creative background includes years of project management experience with a leading London floral designer, coordinating installations for iconic locations for the Birley and Caprice Groups.
"The way that colour interacts through weaving has always fascinated me, the excitement of seeing this come to life at speed in the mill is reminiscent of childhood wonder. Working with top interior designers and historical institutions allows me to combine my knowledge and passion for both contemporary and period interiors in truly rewarding ways."
Charlotte's favourite aspect of her work is collaborating with clients to bring their visions to life, whether for luxury contemporary interiors or meticulous historical recreations. She has extensive knowledge of luxury interiors for private homes, hospitality, and exclusive members' clubs, as well as a passion for recreating historic fabrics for heritage properties and ceremonial occasions.
From US-based projects to recreating the Burlington Damask for Chatsworth House, Charlotte's expertise in woven constructions and project management ensures that each client's vision is impeccably realised. She is fluid in her approach, where she uses her foundation of woven knowledge to create fabrics that honour tradition while meeting modern standards of quality and durability.

Alex Daniels
Account Manager
Alex Daniels' passion for fabric traces back to her time at the Manchester School of Art, where she earned a 1st class degree in woven textiles and numerous awards for her designs. This education provided her with a solid foundation in fabric analysis and technical construction, as well as an eye for modern interior design trends.
At Humphries Weaving, Alex specialises in high-end interior projects for both contemporary schemes and historic buildings of importance. She excels in collaborating with clients to piece together missing elements of textile specifications, translating their vision into woven fabric. Alex particularly enjoys uncovering the unique stories behind centuries old fabric and recreating them.
"Being part of the journey from faded textile to helping restore a room to its former glory is incredibly rewarding and a privilege," Alex says. "The hours meticulously spent hand-drawing designs, evaluating weave constructions and fibres enable us to recreate heritage designs that make our textiles extra special, knowing they'll be enjoyed for decades to come!"
Alex leverages her extensive textile knowledge when collaborating with leading interior designers to craft bespoke fabrics. These unique creations, blending traditional textiles with contemporary flourishes, feature in prestigious hotels and private residences worldwide, often appearing in popular magazines such as World of Interiors.
Some of her proudest projects include fabric for the Coronation of HM King Charles III, pure silk damask walling for the Gainsborough Gallery in Suffolk, and Brocatelle for the Henry Ford Estate in Michigan, USA. Her innovative mock velvet upholstery fabric can be seen at Antony House in Cornwall, whilst more colourful and decorative fabrics have been created in collaboration with private individuals in Europe.
