Earlier in 2023, we were honoured to collaborate with the Fitzwilliam Museum, @heatherporterupholstery, @bainbridgecons, and Lucy Wood on the restoration of a rare pair of William Kent chairs.

The journey began with a tiny clue—historic fibres hidden in the tack holes of the woodwork—which led to the development of a bespoke silk damask in a bold shade now known as Kent Yellow. Using our in-house dye works, we carefully trialled and perfected the colour, before weaving the chosen design—our Campania Damask—on Jacquard looms in Sudbury.
This project is a testament to the power of collaborative research, heritage craft, and our specialist ability to dye and weave completely bespoke fabrics.

The restored chairs are now proudly on display at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge and also featured in the Furniture History Society Journal.
