Humphries Weaving was honoured on Friday, 21st November, to welcome Clare, Countess of Euston, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk, for the formal presentation of The King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development. The Countess, joined by members of the Suffolk Lieutenancy, toured the mill to see first-hand the specialist processes that underpin our work in historic textiles.

The presentation took place on the mill floor, surrounded by our working looms, a fitting backdrop that reflects the heritage, craftsmanship and technical precision at the heart of every Humphries Weaving fabric. The visit offered an opportunity to demonstrate the detail involved in our historic textile recreations, bespoke dyeing capabilities and the use of modern power looms to produce traditional designs with accuracy and integrity.

Receiving The King’s Award for Enterprise is a significant milestone for our company. It recognises not only the authenticity and quality of our woven textiles, but also our long-standing commitment to responsible and sustainable manufacturing. Sustainability informs every stage of our process, from careful fibre selection to meticulous dyeing techniques aligned with current legislation, and our zero-textile-waste-to-landfill commitment.
