Charlotte joined Humphries Weaving with five years of creative experience from a bespoke weaving business specialising in designing collections, handweaving textile art and consultations for luxury interiors. Whilst living in London, she also had many years of experience with one of the UK’s leading floral designers, providing bespoke designs and coordinating installations for some of London’s most iconic locations.
Studying Textile Design at the renowned Loughborough University has given her a strong foundation in woven constructions and an eye for design and colour. This is where she learned to row and after graduating, she pursued her passion for rowing at a High-Performance Centre, winning Henley Women’s Regatta and representing at Henley Royal Regatta.
“The way that colour interacts through weaving has always fascinated me and the excitement of seeing this come to life at speed in the mill is reminiscent of childhood. I am excited to work with the top interior designers as well as renowned historical institutions. To be able to use my degree, the knowledge I have built up since working combined with my love of history is such an exciting and rare opportunity, and I am thrilled to start my journey.”
The role at Humphries Weaving brings together her strong creative aspect, deep passion for woven fabric and high-level project management skills, ultimately delivering a customer’s vision.
