    On Wednesday 3rd October 2018 the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the Brighton Pavilion as part of their tour of Sussex, where they took in the newly restored Saloon.     Built for George IV when he was Prince of Wales, the Royal Pavilion in Brighton is one of the most extravagant buildings of its age. This weekend celebrates the grand re-opening of the Saloon, following conservation and restoration work started in 2002 and costing in the region of £390,000. The room is now faithfully restored to its 1823 glory.
