Dumfries House

We’ve pieced together designs from chair fragments at Dumfries House for Chippendale’s most famous and complete collection of furniture. We have recreated brocatelle from grainy black and white photographs for the Henry Ford Estate, or from John Nash’s watercolour at Brighton Pavillon and worked alongside conservators and curators on projects for Chatsworth House and many properties under the National Trust. Each project has added layers to our extensive archive of textile documents, artwork, and period colour references to continuously develop our expert consultancy for designers and heritage properties.

Bespoke Fabric

Every historic interior tells a story, and every restoration project has its own requirements. We take a thorough, considered approach, analysing original textiles, documenting weave structures, and developing custom colour palettes that honour historical accuracy while working within your specific needs.

Our on-site dye works allows us to match historical documents, yarn wraps, or archive samples with precision. We can hand-draw lost pattern areas, recreate narrow-width weaving techniques, and advise on appropriate fabric constructions. Most importantly, we help you make informed decisions about when conservation is possible, and we work with renowned upholsterers and installers for fabric walling.

Whether you’re an interior designer seeking period-appropriate fabric for a client, a heritage property manager planning a major restoration, or a homeowner passionate about authenticity, we’re here to guide you through the complexities of historic textiles.

From initial research and design origination through to custom colour development and weaving to order, we provide the expertise and craftsmanship your project deserves.

Contact our team to explore how our Expert Consultancy for Designers and Heritage Properties can bring depth, authenticity, and beauty to your interior scheme. We’d love to hear about your vision and share how we can help make it a reality.
