The Green Drawing Room Windsor Castle, decorated in Humphries Weaving Silk, was chosen for the official photographs of the Christening of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

On Saturday 6th July 2019 The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle with the official photograph being taken in the Green Drawing Room Windsor Castle.

Humphries Weaving were commissioned to weave a deep green, pure silk damask (woven wide width) for the Green Drawing Room fabric restoration which used the ‘George and Mary Damask’ design. The fabric can be seen in wall panels and on the furniture suite, it was also used in the restoration of the window drapes. Twenty-six years on the damask still provides a warmth and richness to this much used and photographed room.

The Green Drawing Room was also the setting for the official Wedding Portraits for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in May 2019 as photographed below.
